The list....

So far I have posted some pictures of my first eldar corsairs squad. But i have a list and a goal. The list will follow shortly and the goal is to assemble and paint the whole army within the next few months... Hopefully before the summer.
 I have almost all the models and most of it is build. I am not a good painter and lack practice and patience, so it is a challenge for me to overcome and learn from the process. I love converting and kit bashing, this is most of my fun.

The list...:

HQ

- Eldar corsair prince with jet pack, the arms and head are magnetised for an easy swap of weapons and offering him all the option.

- Corsair Void Dreamer ,  arms and both head and jet pack are magnetised to give him all the options and also transforming him into a spirit seer if i wanna play craftworld forces.


TROOP

- Eldar corsair squad, 6 eldar strong with catapult shuriken, a flamer and a shuriken cannon, they are led with a felarch and ride into battle in a falcon. The transport is magnetised to allow all options.

- Eldar corsair squad, 5 eldar strong with catapult shuriken, a flamer and a shuriken cannon. They come with a venom with no options.

-Eldar corsair squad, 10 elders with jet packs, lasblasters and 2 eldar missile launchers. They have a felarch to command them.

- Eldar corsair wasp , 2 of them with a scatter laser and a star cannon.

- Eldar corsair jet bikes, 6 with a felarch equipped with fusion pistol and 2 shuriken cannons.

ELITE

- Corsair void storm squad, 9 with jet packs, 3 flamers and fusion bombs.

FAST ATTACK

- Corsair hornet squadron, 2 with 2 pulse lasers.

- Corsair nightwing 

- Corsair nightspinner, with shuriken cannon and holo-field.

SUPPORT

- Corsair warp hunter, with shuriken cannon and holo-field.

- Corsair void dragon phoenix, with pulse laser and nightfire missiles



I would like to add another corsair squad of 5 with a venom or a squad of 10 with jet packs and a squad of 5 harlequins mounted in a venom too... but I have  enough to do with all the models to paint so that can wait..;)
I think the list as it is is around 1800-2000 pts and I look forward to see the updated list to accommodate my list and the figurines.

Rumour in the air...

I have been following the different discussions and rumours about the soonish release of the update for the Eldar corsair list...
and I've also been enquiring to Forgeworld about this subject... Here is their answer to my question :

"We are pushing the rules team to update the rules for Eldar Corsairs and they keep replying with soon. They have recently told us they have got half way through writing them but this was 2 weeks ago. We are informing them every time a customer emails about the rule update so that they can see how important it is to you all. "

So i would suspect that if there is team on the job they are actively working on the list to finish the writing and the play testing... And that it will be out soon... I would say within a month.

It is also interesting to notice that the whole list had to be rewritten, with hopefully specific warlord traits and a rework on the prince and the void dreamer. I'm actually excited about this, probably I got tired of the endless power armour release the last year or two...

         

     Almost a decade ago I was very active in the hobby, I have since change country and my whole life took a different direction. But the little toy soldiers never completely vanished from my mind. It was during the time of the fourth edition of the game that i was mostly active. I was going to tournament and was part of a club. The eldar were my army of choice and I had a consequent force, roughly 4000 pts painted.  It was an Ulthwé gardian army supported with a couple of aspect shrines and war machines. I had a lot of fun with it.

But after such a long hiatus, i wasn't going back to the same army. After the revamp of the dark eldar i bought myself a few kits and played with it. I loved the idea of mixing the crafworlders and the dark citizen of Commoragh. 

And then Forgeworld released the Doom of Mymeara and with it the eldar corsair list. I found the perfect list and mix of both the Eldar race.

And despite the obsolete book, I continue to put my army together. Hoping for a really good and fun update.

 I'm not playing anymore, I just moved to a new city (Copenhagen) and haven't yet connected with the clubs and gaming centre here. But i really want to finish the project to build a full army of the Void Dragon corsair. 

Through all those years of eldar collection  I have got a lot of unique bits and pieces for conversions. And when I started to assemble the troopers of my force it became apparent that I wanted this to be special in many regards. So I converted all the miniatures as much as my skills allowed me. And magnetised almost all the heads. So i could swap them around and give even more personality to the miniatures. I really love that...

The following pictures are showing my progress and none of the miniatures are 100% finished. I really have to motivate myself to spend the time highlight them and paint the gems.

Here is one of the Felarch he comes with a lot of different components from  dark eldar whych to dire avengers and dark elves.

The heavy gun of the squad, this head is from the pilot of the void dragon phoenix from Forgeworld. She has a modified jet pack for a better mobility with the shruriken cannon.

 And the specialist, I converted the flamer from the guardian platform gunner and gave him a augmetic leg made of a wraith guard arm, after all those guys are pirates and very pirate band have a wooden leg somewhere. I'll post better pictures in another post.

So here is my first attempt to show the scenery project I'm currently working on...

This is design with the concept of a maiden eldar world, a lost plane pocket in the webway or even a lost crone world. So is is eldarish and some how with a bit of a twist. The first here is a sort of temple or art exhibition. Eventually dedicated to Khaine. The central figure being a non armoured representation of the war god. I have set two other pedestals but I'm not sure yet on what should be on...

 

The entrance misses the two Vanes making an archway.

 This is an old project yet to be finished taller than the one before, i think about adding some eldar tech on it to make it more elaborate.

 And finally for this post this is a really old scenery that has seen a lot of battle and still stand today. an old gate with a hand made clay sculpture that found a perfect place in there...

Hi Internet...

This is a blog about miniature from GW and Forgeworld, especially the Eldar faction and even more precisely the eldar corsair.

I'm Milan and I create this blog for a few reason :

- First and foremost because I lack motivation and want to persevere into achieving my goals. So I commit myself, with your viewing as a witness, to move on and doing my best to finish this project.

- Second because I don't see enough blog about my favourite elder faction : the corsair.

- Share with you my experience and thoughts about the subject.

- And get some feed back from the other player, some advise to improve my really poor painting skills and discuss miniature topics.

So here I am,  I will soon post picture of my figurine collection and the scenery project I am presently working on...
